Where does the wool come from

Further information

We work hard with our suppliers to ensure that the fibre is sourced from the best possible places where animals and workers are treated well, this is really important to us.

Our superwash merino comes from South America and is superwash treated in Europe to the highest Oeko-Tex standard. For more information, see the section on superwash below. We use 21.5 micron as standard.

Our non-superwash merino comes from South America.

Our mohair is sourced from South Africa and we are very excited to finally be able to offer RMS certified mohair fibres for all our mohair yarns.

Our alpacas come from the Peruvian Andes and are also sourced from smaller farmers who rely on their animals for their livelihood. The factory works closely with the alpaca breeders to improve breeding programs and help them produce the best alpacas in the world. The sorting of these alpacas is quite extraordinary: the fibers are sorted by micron and color by highly skilled women - it is fascinating to watch.

Our cashmere comes from Mongolia and China

Our silk comes mainly from China

Our Donegal are made in Italy
